HISTORY:
In 1955, on the suggestion of some French sports journalists, the tournament was started only for the winners of European clubs.
Then this league was called EUROPEAN CUP.
From the 1992–93 season onwards, the competition was not only open to the winning teams from European countries, but other winning clubs were also included in it.
The tournament was call UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
Although the name of this league is CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, this league also includes the all-time winning clubs in the country.

Beginning of League:
The first European Cup of this league took place in the 1955-56 season. 16 teams participated in this league.
The first match was between the two teams Sporting CP and Partizan. The match was tied 3-3 before the end of time.
Trophies and Medals:
In this league held every year, the winning team is awarded the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS CLUB CUP.
The official current version of the cup has been awarded since 1967.
Another feature of this league is that from the season 1968-69 to the season before 2008-9, this official trophy is given to that team permanently if any team has won this championship 3 times or a total of 5 times in this league. Also a new official cap is made for the upcoming season.
So far the official trophy of this league is held by five clubs.
The club has Real Madrid, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Milan and Liverpool.
Since 2008, the official trophy of the league has remained with UEFA. And a replica of the trophy is being given to the winning club.
The current trophy is a silver trophy of 74 cm height and 11 kg weight.
The original official trophy of the league has been awarded to Real Madrid in recognition of their six titles won to date.
Real Madrid has won the most league titles in this league so far.
