ESTABLISHED :

At the end of the 1992 AD season, a new league was proposed.

At that time on 17 july 1992 a competition called FA Premier League was launched for the top clubs.

The promotion, management and planning of this competition was handed over to the FA Premier League.

STARTING OF LEAGUE :

The first season of this league started in 1992-93.

This league consists of 20 club teams.

Brian Dean scored the first goal of the league against Manchester United in the first match of the year.

FORMATE OF COMPETITION :

A total of 20 clubs were selected for the annual Premier League, a top competition.

In this 1 club play 19 opposition clubs 1 match each at home ground and opposition team's ground.

In this ongoing season each team has to play a total of 38 matches thus points are awarded for the tournament i.e. wins for 3 point , draw for 1 points ,loss for 0 points.

Thus the team is ranked on the basis of the total number of points obtained.Sometimes two teams are ranked on the difference of goals scored and conceded if their points are equal.

The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the English Premier League title and the best teams from the English Premier League qualify for the next UEFA champions league.
